A late afternoon Spring day on the beach, looking back towards the Kaikoura Seaward Ranges: apart from tourism, this fishing port on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island is famous for its local crayfish delicacies, and as a thriving whale watch centre.

Hello Jeff,
I like the springtime colors and lighting bringing out the scenery of this rocky beach. The snow covered mountains in the background add beautiful DOF. Textures and details of the rocks and plants in the foreground are very nice and their shapes so interesting.

Hi Jeff,

thats a great photo. I like the pov, the sharpness and the colours. In addition your picture makes me sad, because in februrary i stand also there. This point is from my home nearly 20.000 km away and the journey was my honeymoontrip.

Wow, a plethora of rocks, formations, waterways, colors, and almost everything inbetween, all packaged in a large square format - seems you may have had to squeeze to get all the details in - only kidding. Nice shot and TFS. Gerald

One thing the Kiwi's have got over us is the scenery. Spectacular to say the least.
Great capture, amazing sharps all the way through the shot. The rocky foreground leading off the the snow covered peaks looks fantastic. So much detail in the one frame.
Very well done, a beautiful capture.

I was here last April and we could only see a little snow on the peaks.
Your colours and sharpness are superb Jeff. I am quite impressed with your "Kaleidoscope " of colours.
