Photographer’s Note
Okay, I’m not a morning person, but I dragged my skinny behind out of bed and setting up my tripod for this panoramic shot, stitched together from 3 sequential shots. I was hoping to get some nice reflection of the mountain range but it was rather windy that morning and cloudy, at least not raining, thank heaven. See large version for better quality if you have time. The site has been very slow lately.
Glacier National Park
With its alpine glaciers, jagged peaks, teeming wildlife, lakes, lush forests, wildflowers, and many waterfalls, Glacier National Park is often referred to as "North America's Crown Jewel". One of the Glacier National Park's crown jewels is the fabulous Many Glacier region, where the photo is taken, just outside of the Many Glacier Hotel Lodge. In the front is Swiftcurrent Lake with its wonderful vista of the Lewis Range.
Thanks for looking in and enjoy.

Hallo from Germany!
This picture really was worth getting up early! A wonderful photo with a very special atmosphere - nearly a bit solemn. The sunlight on the slopes simply is gorgeous. For me the "photo of the day"! ;-) Congratulations to this one!

Hi Way
Very nice post, with the earliest light on the mountain
The panoramic view is well chosen, and gives all the dimension of this place.

I love the jagged sky along with the clouds above. Great contrast and wonderful reflection in the lake. I get a great feeling of solitude from this photo that goes along with the natural beauty. Great work and I am sure it was worth the early rise. Just curious, at what time in the morning was this photo taken? Thanks.

Hi Way:
Love it! And your note too--"dragged my skinny behind out of bed," haha...gave me a chuckle. You got some cool light here and a decent bit of reflection. The long post is the right choice for this area. Great job.

Hey Way,
Oh man you make me really depressive in showing me these kind of pictures. I had so much rain there, mountains were all coverd in clouds, not a single photo was possible and now you come up with a picture i would have make myself when i planned my trip...great..!!! ;-)
Getting up early always pays off, you know that, so i am glad you get up that early in making this great shot. It's the light my friend what makes it interesting. The light on the high mountain (bit more space on top would make it make even more majestic), but also that beautiful soft blue and the clear view in to the far background does it all for me.
Great work, also in stitching, it looks flawless...good work.

Hi Way, Amazing shot from Glaciers. Splendid morning light and fantastic reflections. Good work with stitching. It seems to me that we did not see this lake. We went Going to the sun road. Great photo,

Hello Way
A standart picture would have been cool, a panoramic picture is better, and i'm happy to see that for this time you try to be a morning person.
You got a well orange light on rock, but, and it's my only critic, too much shadow on right side.
I think light would have be better later but not with this orange tone.
A great composure.
Best regards.

Hello Way,
Oh yes, I can relate to the not a morning person statement. Though perhaps my behind to be dragged out of bed is less skinny - though not fat either hahaha.
Very nice stitch. And I have to say that I do like the windy reflection! Gives great tones in the water.
Nice one!

hello Way,
I know I'm repeating myself, but I have to say I still wish we had more time for our short trip to the West. I mean - we were sooooo close to this magic place, but at the same time to far away time-wise.
the photo is great, no question about that. I particularly like the contrast between the cool tone of the water, and warmer colours of the mountains. the corner of the rocky shore on the right adds a good depth to the scene, and I like a lot the overall feeling of a fresh morning [and coming from another not-a-morning-person that says a lot :))]. great shot, my compliments.

Kristine

Way,
of the many National Parks that are on my list of to go, the Glacier is on the top. Unfortunately it is also on the top of America and means a long drive from Central California. Wonderful light on the landscape augmenting the itch to jump in the car and do not care about the mileage ...

Ciao Way,
fantastic panoramic shot! The colors and the forms are reproduced on the water in stupendous way, emphasizing the beauty and the suggestion of this landscape. Despite the small dimensions of the photo, the image has an excellent depth thanks also to the good management of the light. A work difficult to do with this good result, compliment!

Hello Way! You HAD to get up :)))) and sleep during the day, and see what came out????? The big size is again impressive and we take part, we stand there with you enjoying the first rays at Glacier when the air is still pretty cool and the crowds are still at their campgrounds and motels. I was standing there myself but I have not transported such a nice photo home like you did and that we can enjoy now. I like it a lot, you did your homework :)) Barbara.

Hello Way,
The different blue tones of the sky and the water are very beautiful. So are the reflections in the lake and the sunlight on the brown mountain and the trees in the middle of the pic makes this photo fantastic.

Dificult to not come right away for this so beautiful landscape, Way. Yes, the site is very slow now, but I still manage to open the even more fantastic Large Version. What a scenery. And I'm glad you did the effort because nothing beats this morning light. I can imagine what would be the reflection if there wasn't even a breeze blowing, but the wind actually made lovely textures on the water surface, specially at the center of the picture. The peak in the center is gorgeous. So many amazing places to discover in the USA...

hello Way
Montana - Big Sky Country. I passed through the state once but never had chance to visit this GNP, although I still kept a car plate to boast that Big Sky.
Very well stitched LV shot and really a dream place to visit with such lovely landscape view. Early morning affords the best in calm still reflection and clear sky.
A fine TE post.

Hi Way,
how are you and how are things going?
This is a flawless presentation, with the large version truly standing out in terms of quality. Beautiful light and beautiful colours for this view which brings a great mood, peace and serenity. Ok, no refelctions but that's not important as the job done in stitching the 3 shots is simply perfect. I like it a lot.
Thanks for sharing it and take care,
