Photographer’s Note
It's been about 6 months since I've posted a photo, and I have been trying to write some critiques every so often...but haven't been that active.
The reason for my absence, is my move to Salvador, Brasil. My first time in South America has been a pretty memorable experience. I shall be living here for the next few months experiencing Brasil.
Pictured here is the lovely Pelourinho, or old city of Salvador. This is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods I have ever had the chance to visit. The ruined, old buildings, and churches are just incredible.
This photo wasn't taken at the best time of day, but I shall return to get some better photos.
Salvador is an incredible city, with amazing beaches, historic buildings and forts, and some of the friendliest, happiest people I have encountered.
Salvador has been called the "City of Happiness" and you can definitely see it in the people, with their love of dancing and eating.
It has also been dubbed the "New Orleans of Brasil" which I find to be pretty ridiculous, considering Salvador is hundreds of years older than "New Orleans" and can't compare to love of dancing, and just having a good time.
Regardless, it is a magical city, and I look forward to posting more photos from here.

Hello David,
It's a famous view of Salvador but this picture has really very beautiful colours.
Sharp and well detailed. Also a very nice sky.
Didn't know it was the New Orleans of Brazil.
Best regards, Paul

Hi David!
This is really a famous place! I like the pov, the colourful houses and, of course, all those people around. It's surely a place full of life! Seems you'll have the chance to take lots of photos there now.

David,
Your photo is amazing. I admire how you managed to take this very well exposed photo considering the sun light at that time of the day.
Beautiful colorful town you are showing us here. Great composition and sharpness.
Have a nice week!

Hello David,
This is such a quaint picture of this wonderful old city, full of colour and charm. I like your low POV and the composition, providing a wide view of the neighbourhood. The inclusion of the children playing gives a nice human element to the photo. Very nicely done. Enjoy your time there in Brazil.
Cheers Grant

Hi David,
Very nice shot, well composed, with nice colours and an excellent point of view. Anyway I find some parts of the picture are dark. As you said, it was not the best time of day to take this picture ;)

David, oi!

Hi David!
Welcome back!
Your photo, in spite of the time of the day, with difficult sunlight, is very nice!
I'm glad you're enjoying your stay in my Country! We do have lots of problems, but we're also step by step trying to solve them, usually with a good sense of humor!
Thanks for sharing with all TE members your beautiful image and interesting note!
Congratulations!

hi David,
I hope you are having fun in Brasil :) and looking at this photo and the amazing colours of the city I'm pretty sure you are.
I like the photo a lot, especially what seems like a confrontation between the buildings - the bigger, more stately and elegant ones to the right, and older-looking to the left, with people walking between them unaware. I also like the light - it seems quite harsh, but also intense, fits the story in your note about dancing :)
best,
Kristine
