Photographer’s Note

To complete my little series of Camaret-sur-mer, I thought I would add my own version of the famous "TAS DE POIS" situated on the pointe de "Pen Hir" (Long Head in Breton). There are a few photos of it on TE, and as you may see, it looks quite different according to the weather, the colour of the sea, the activity of the waves...
This pointe de Pen Hir is renouned for its wild sceneries and its dangerous pass between the island of Sein and Ouessant.
It was a grey day, as we often have in Britanny. However, one day, I might be able to post a blue version of it too...
The three rocks are called: "The green Head", "the fork", and "the heap of cereals".
I happened to come across photos of similar places , like the "faraglioni of Acitrezza" off the shore of Catania in Sicily or the "Faraglioni of Anacapri" off the shores of Naples.(See WS)If anyone knows of similar places, I would be interested to know about them.

Hi Marie-Louise,

A wonderful shot that proves that you could take really good photos also when the weather is not perfect. In this light you could see every detail of the rocks. I love the inclusion of the boat that gives us an idea of the size of these rocks. TFS and have a nice Sunday evening!

Bonjour Marie Louise
Voilà un endroit où l'on se sent bien,joli paysage marin avec ce point de vue.La partie claire du ciel parmet une mise en valeur de la ligne d'horizon.Cette dernière penche à droite aussi me suis-je permis un petit WS en espérant qu'il te donnera satisfaction.

Ile me plaît bien ce décor de rochers se succédant dans la mer comme des points de suspension. Une belle vue typique de la côte bretonne. Bonne gestion de la lumière pas très favorable.

ciao Marie Louise,la natura di questi faraglioni è diversa da quella mia perchè come ti dicevo quelli sono di origine vulcanica.
Ottima la composizione della foto e ottimo il pov;mi piace molto la linea chiara sull'orizzonte.

Je n'aime pas beaucoup les jours grises comme ce ci, mais il a donné une lumière très intéressante à ta photo. Le paysage est très beau et tu as fait une compo superbe avec elle.
L'horizon est un peu archée et incliné, mais rien de grave.

bella questi posti situati sulla Pen Hir.
La imbarcazione sul mare da un senso delle proporzioni di queste gigantesche rocce edello strapiombo veramente fantastico.
Grazie di avere postato i WS per farci vedere come influiscono le differenti illuminazioni.
Per questa foto hai scelto la luce che dà meno spettacolarità ma senza dubbio era giusto per accrescere la drammaticita di questo strapiombo.

This is a beautiful landscape, very well composed with a V of the cliffs looking down toward the sea and the distant rock rising up on the sea. Very nice tone considering the weather is on the grey side. Thanks for sharing.

Ces Tas de Pois sont bien placés dans la composition. La lumière est celle des jours de pluie et les couleurs sont en accord avec le ciel.

Trenet n'avait pas vu ces rochers abrupts lorsqu'il a composé "La Mer"!!
De cet angle recherché, vous en montrez un étalage bien spectaculaire. La petite image du bateau informe de la grosseur des blocs de pierre et ainsi contribue à l'aspect de grande profondeur.

Le POV est bon, et j'aime particulièrement ces couleurs de plomb, qui nous rappelle que ce n'est PAS la Cote d'azur! La netteté est bonne ainsi que le rendu des texture

vermanente una bellissima foto...i colori sono stupendi e il mare all'orizzonte cattura le luci del cielo per poi prenderne possesso...sembra quasi che alla fine il cielo e il mare diventino un tutt'uno!!
e soprattutto regalano un effetto di profondità alla foto..

Bonjour ML,
Very interesting location and nice idea of sharing photos of similar places.
In western Algarve (Portugal) there are similar landscapes, especially at Ponta da Piedade. See for example the Mikolaj Kawa's Ponta da Piedade.
To the east, in Praia do Vau and Praia da Rocha, I've got similar views, but I've posted only a couple of rocks and a hole in a rock.

Despite the bad weather, you have managed capturing this interesting place very well, with good colors. It is seen pretty well which rock is called "The green Head". The stones in the foreground are very good too, in particular the white ones on the right. Perfectly good job!
