Photographer’s Note
Here is another picture from the Edinburgh Festival.
This man was performing a show on the Royal Mile. At this point he was balancing on top of a large pole, and yes the whip was ment to be on fire! He started to whip the whip (I didn't know how else to say that!) in the air and put out the flames, which was quite cool!:-)
As I said in my last post, If you are coming to Edinburgh during the festival I would reccomend you take a walk down the Royal Mile!

Hi Blair,
Intersting composition.
I like the way you clikced this shot from such a low angle. The clarity of this shot amazes me wiht the rise of black smoke near his mouth.
The intensity in the body language is remarkable.
Now I read the notes............he is standing on the top of a pole...errrrrrrrr

Hi Blair,
Hahaha, that is just funny. Good note as well about him balancing and the whip that really needed to be on fire. :-)

hello Blair,
Interesting picture !
Dommage que tu n'aies pas réussi à isoler le cracheur de feu. Les couleurs sont belles.
Bonne journée

Hi Blair,
so have you now moved your favorite subjects from noctural images to people? It doesn`t matter what you shoot, you always produce a great shot! The f/4 works great to let the background appear blurred, what draws the main attention to the man, great quality you deliver, nice colors and sharpness.
Very nice, you must live in a photogenic city!
Take care
Mark

Hi Blair,
Brilliant picture. The artist in the hart of the action, perfectly sharp against a shallow bg of typical architecture of the region.

Hello Blair!
What a fantastic picture...I do really like your idea and the way you present it is fantastic ! The choice of f/4 was great and the man is perfectly sharp.
Hehe, it was two years ago, when I was in Edinburgh during this festival (it is more than worth to see!) but at that time I still ahd a simple analog camera......:-)
Anyway, your picture is great, I can´t see anything to improve this !!!
Best regards,
