Photographer’s Note
This is not a veteran, he was actually showing a bike used in the battle in WWII, but I loved his pose and yellow gloves on the motor cycle, so i forgot about the bike... I remember my mother had such gloves when we did the dishes in the times before the dishwasher ;D... but doubt if thoose where the same as these...
Had to pan it a little...

I like his strong empathy with his ancestors, perhaps induced by the saddle and handlebar and also by the uniform and, yes, the very strange (maybe miraculous) gloves. He looks very brave and streamlined.
Quite unusual motion blur visible only on his barret. Technically it is certainly not the best pic of the day, but it is (to me) fully counterweighed with other, much more relevant values. I just think about how would it work without the note and - which is more interesting question - separated from your series. I think it would be weakened significantly. Don’t you think about some kind of formalisation of this series, as a Travelogue, e.g. Into the veterans’ soul...?

I like it! Excellent DOF, love the comp (the man is in the frame nicely, even his hands; the boys in the background are a nice touch). I like the graininess of it too. But what's with his glasses? Something strange about the black there, like it was fill in or something.

Very cool compos Jorrit...
The face of this guy is excellent, I like the color of its gloves; the blur is excellent as well.
Very good job.

There's a kind of silent buster keatonlike distanciated humor in that shot...
The guy's riding the bike like he was on the top of an armored tank, he wears these unbelievable gloves and what to say about the "Leisure Suit Larry" style sunglasses.. The whole scene takes place in front of 3 schoolboys who don't even give a f*** about and on top of that no one seem to have the slightest glimpse of a smile... is that a lost sketch for Monty Python's "The meaning of life"..
Oh please Jorrit, how can we take anything seriously...ROFLOL :DDDDD

I love this picture Jorrit, I only wish I hadn't read Luko's comment 1st as it tempered my thoughts somewhat as I wonder wether it's sureal or comical.
I love the garish gloves and the implausably upright thrusting posture of the rider and those glasses!! all stunningly set against the backcloth of those totally uninterested Kids.
The colors remind me of 1940s 16mm movie film.
One of my favorites.

mooie actie in deze foto, wat zit die man vreemd op de motor, misschien had hij hel haast om thuis te komen om de afwas te doen...
Dus je bent helemaal bij met je nieuwe statief, of is de leica te zwaar voor je om de hele dag te tillen....

Hi Jorrit!!!
this guy seems extremely cool mitai, his jacket somehow looks 60 years old, and his sunglasses remind me the ones S. Stallone used in "Cobra" movie...remember?
the yellow gloves are nowadays used for laundry purposes... ;)
the blurring I see maybe is still effect of the terrible hangover of the weekend...
saludos amigo!

This rider is very stylish, I have a pair of gloves like these somewhere...I have to find and wear them to improve my look.
Great shot!

You made me steal the "joker hat" from my kids, and now you want me to go to the basement and try to find my old Raybans with which I used to freak out in school when I was 15 years old, just after having seen Saturday Night Fever, with Travolta.
Luko mentions Monthy Python somewhere, and I would add a bit of Bee Gees..
...I'll definitely try to put a photo in my TE intro with a pair of glasses such as those...
The yellow gloves are hilarious.

The softness of the image quality contrats with his im-going-right-ahead expression! The yellow gloves and maroon are what caught me! And his sunglasses stand out like 3D!
