Photographer’s Note
Pasar Malam is Malay for Night Market. It is a lot like Sunday Fair but at night in some towns in Malaysia. In Sabah, Pasar Malam starts in the late afternoon.
I would suggest you go in the late afternoon. It's merrier and the foods are fresher. At certain aisle, it's smoky but with a mouth watering scent in the air.
Pasar Malam in Malaysia, can't do without the obligatory barbecuing something. Usually, the smoky stalls has someone fanning something smoked on its charcoal pits, ranging from chicken parts, bovine meats and sea produces.
