Photographer’s Note
"Abaa" is men's loose sleeveless cloak , open in front that has been mostly used in the old days . It is weaved with the wool of sheep, goat or the camel. The latter is the most expensive and desirable one; for it is both warmer and lighter.
City of Naeen has been one of the best centers of Abaa-weaving in Iran. Like you see in the shot , their looms are made inside the hills in a form of the long corridors.
In past , several men were working in these places, but nowadays only few persons work there. For example, in the loom you see, just 2 men are still working . Although they haven't a large income, but they are concerned about their job and the future of it.
The man in the shot was weaving an "Abaa" and the other one in the left - who was out of the loom - was weaving a striped "Gelim" which is a short -napped coarse carpet.
It seems that by the new usage of these kind of cloths , this job will flourish again .
***
In the WS I have uploaded a portrait of the owner of the loom , wearing a brown Abaa weaved by himself.

Hello Atousa. Your realistic photo shows a scene from the world of the work. The technical quality of the photo is outstanding. The multicolored touched cloths are remarkable. They bring color into the picture. Exemplary is also the informative text. A good photographic achievement. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Atousa,
Interesting shop as it look like is built in a cave. The high point perspective is very effective to show us the depth of the place. Good details and light for an indoor image. I aso hope this art of weaving will continue from generation to generation. Cheers :-)

Salam Atousa,
It's like looking at a living past... The only sign of present is the electric light. Besides that, you did a wonderful choice of POV and a remarkable light management, that allows an impressive sharpness despite the adverse light situation.
The WS is a great portrait!
Haven't you any photo showing the whole abaa?
TFS, Regards, José.

Hi Atousa!
This is a wonderful scene! I like the details, the light, the man sitting there smiling. this work is probably done for centuries. Such a pitty we're slowly loosing so much of our past.

Salam Atousa,
Impressive framing of this very interesting composition; you give a good sense of this workplace while the dignified owner wearing his own creation adds important detail. The note is also excellent.
