Photographer’s Note

In our mobile word
I am not convinced that my Nokia N95 8GB can make popcorn (see general forum), but it's camera sure is handy when doing some favorite walks in the South of France and spotting motifs like here.

A capture from the port leading in to the harbour of Port-Vendres - one of the few days without rain under my stay in May.

The photo mainly what I got out of the phone, some minor PP in Painshop Pro like, USM, light/contrast adjustment and skylight filter (15%)

I'm pretty amazed by the quality and the sharpness of the photos the phones can do now... and amazed bu the composition you managed with it ! Don't worry for the pop corn, there is a snack facing the sea just down there ;)

This is a fine shot for a cell phone! Your composition is great with the inclusion of the plants in the foreground with the great ocean scene in the back. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail.

Hi Jack,
Phone camera technology has taken long steps since my 6680, and it's just three years old.
Lovely seaside view with good balance between fg and bg.
I like how you framed the scene with yellow flowers and that aloe.

Hi Jack,

should we sell our SRLs now?? Just kidding, but your shot shows that under good conditions even a simple equipment enables to make very fine pictures ... if one has the eye ;-)

Hello Jack,

je suis vraiment étonné par la qualité rendue par cette appareil. Comme quoi, ce n'est pas l'appareil qui fait une belle photo mais celui qui est derrière.

Voila qui fait plaisir a voir, toute une belle présentation du sud joliment présenter avec les fleurs jaune qui donne unbeau contraste avec le bleu du ciel et de la mer

Hello Jack,
This is an impressive picture to get from a cellphone. Details are sharp and clear; the clear spring sky is soft and lovely against the deep blue of the water. Vertical shapes of the plant in the foreground add interest. A beautiful shot.
