Photographer’s Note
First shots with my new Sigma DP1, which replaces my D-Lux3.
I am very very impressed by the image quality of this little tiny camera. The use of the Sigma software is quite easy to handle, and the fill light options is really interesting. Foveon sensor is able to make some miracles as the sky was grey and would have had expected a bright white sky with an ordinary compact camera.
Now on the picture itself, this shot is from Montreal. However, the metropolitan entry, Guimard style, is typical from Paris. The stock exchange tower in the background looks like a bit like Montparnasse one in paris. Heights are almost the same (185m vs 210m).
Story tells that french engineers of the RATP came in Montreal to help canadian engineer to build Montreal Metro, and offered this replica of the Guimard entry. Globes were original ones, bu thte one you can see in the pictures are fake, in order to keep the original ones far from destruction, tags or whatsoever.

Hi Guillaume,
I like the way you join old (sign) and new (building). To my eyes your POV is quite original and attractive. The strret lamps and red bulbs add an extra touch to the scene. Good sharpness as well. TFS.
Regards,
Fernando.
