Portugal is famous for its “azulejos”, decorative ceramic tiles, which can be seen in churches, buildings, houses and even some pubs and restaurants all across the country.
You will find this beautiful building full of “azulejos”, (Graça/Lisbon)not blue and white, but yellows and browns. Its a beautiful facade.
You'll see them everywhere in Lisbon: So called “ Azulejos”, ceramic tiles used as facades of the houses or as interior decorations. Often they are composed mosaic-like to artistic wall-pictures. You'll see plenty of them just striving threw the city, but if you are intrested in this typical Portugese art, visit "Museo Nacional do Azulejo" . The “Museu Nacional do Azulejo” is a good place to visit if you have any interest in azulejos. There is an impressive collection of tiles dating from the 16th century, right up to the present day. One of the star exhibits is Portugal’s longest azure, a huge panorama of Lisbon more than 30 metres in length. The museum also explains the intricacies of how the tiles are produced.

Hola Filipe,
Estupenda simetría de estos balcones en un edificio bien cuidado. Estupendos detalles, se aprecian muy bien las texturas de los azulejos, y excelente luz y colores.

Hi Filipe,
Wonderful architecture, very photogenic and very inviting for some serious photography. the blue colours look wonderful against that darker red, but also the long shadows make it more than interesting...great shot, i like this a lot.

Aqui está um tipo de foto que eu não tiraria mas, tenho de admitir, que está mesmo muito boa. O aspecto gráfico é tremendo e a repetição das portas, janelas e varandas é fantástica. Até as três floreiras ficaram muito bem ao ao darem um toque assimétrico à imagem. Gosto mesmo muito.

superbe coup d'oeil pour exploiter ce jeu de répétitions. Le cadrage est tiré au cordeau, le bleu des fenêtres est vraiment complémentaire de la céramique brune.

é sem dúvida uma excelente captura frontal. O ângulo da luz está perfeito para realçar as texturas da parede e nesse tipo de fotografia, isso é essencial. Você enquadrou de maneira simétrica, o que acabou por trazer uma imagem prazerosa de se ver. Ótimo controle de exposição e claridade. Gostei bastante!

Wonderful uniformity to this beautifully detailed shot of the many windows. The blue light hitting the windows is magical against the detailed brick facade.

Filipe,
it isn't just Lisboa that is all about tiles. This trend got quite far even to the portuguese colonies and for such I got to see a lot of the portuguese art in tiles while living in Rio, Brasil. Although I have to confess that I have never seen there any whole building covered with tiles, at least not that type of tiles.
The graphical effect with the windows is a very good one. Good framing to focus on the graphism fo the windows surrounded by the miriads tiles.
Did you try to rectivy the image to get rid of the distortion at the sides?

parece até uma pintura essa foto, mas gostei mais do detalhe dos vasos de flores em algumas janelas apenas, bem interessante. A textura da parede é curiosa também, parece um carpete.

Hello Filipe,
A daring approach to photograph this building and I think the repetitive pattern of the windows turns out really well, even somewhat artistic. You focused on the facade as the subject, excluding even the roof overhang(shadow is visible).

The details in this shot is amazing. Not only the mosaic pattern is visible, even the imperfect workmanship of the plastering can be seen.

Olá Filipe,
Uma bela fachada muito lisboeta. O efeito geométrico émuito forte, mas tb. gosto de como há cortinas fechadas, abertas e semi-abertas e dos vasos de sardinheiras floridas. O ângulo do sol é tal que dá a sensação que os azulejos têm um relevo enorme.
Perspectiva no ponto, tal como eu gosto: mantiveste um bocadinho da convergência apesar de estar quase direita. Se a correcção fosse total, daria a ideia de estar com a convergência invertida.

Yes I agree with Chris, and have added it to my Album cover theme, where there's a few more with the idea. Since this goes for graphical impact, maybe worth sorting out the perspective distortion in PS.

Bonita simetria e efeito. Só não me parece que estes azulejos sejam assim tão typical.
Mas como diria o outro, azulejos há muitos... (e bem diferentes uns dos outros).

Bom dia Filipe, esta está muito bem executada. A luz está bonita e a fazer um bonito efeito de sombra e brilho na superfície dos azulejos. O enquadramento é meticuloso e bem conseguido, resultando num padrão muito agradável ao olho. Não sei se seria possível ou desejável corrigir a perspectiva - se calhar até ficava com um aspecto menos natural - mas penso que seria de considerar a hipótese. Seja como for tens aqui um excelente trabalho.
