July Morning Photo

Photographer’s Note

View from my window, captured on a bright July morning. On the left you can see the Donskoi Monastery (one more capture with note is here) and on the back right is the Russian Academy of Sciences (the night capture from the other POV and note can be seen here). The yellow hue is due to the morning sun, it's not pp:)

Hi Katia,
There is a distracting element (crane) from the background which i think you can't do anything, other than that it's an excellent shot, you have captured the monastery very well.

Typical domes are very attractive in their special forms and dark colors with well contrasted red facades. Excellent addition of dark green and next important city textures to the scene. Perfect clarity and natural colors in very good sharpness. Congratulations.

Priviet Katia, you are very lucky to have this nice church in front of your window....i like a lot these orthodox churchs with bulb, i like contrast between modern building..

Hi Katia,
A good POV to have the two different styles and periods close to each other. Light and colors are good, sharp details.
I like how the lower side is naturally framed with a line of trees.

The onion shapes in the monastery tell me this is a house of worship, and the building makes a fine eye-catcher in the frame...

This one is an excellent and very original photo. Dificult to find new framings and compositions on so many times photographed places but you did it!!! Great contrast between the so diferent architecture of the Monasterey and the Academy. Greatly balanced composition! And on top some wonderful morning colours! Congratulations!

Hi Katia, I like this shot. The early morning lighting is good, showing off both buildings very well against that clouded sky. The shrubs on the bottom present a very good base for the two of them. I like too how you've caught the contrasts between an older architecture, and new, and between religion and science. And in the middle there is a crane, building something between the two of them. It works well.

You are lucky to have such a wonderful view from your window. The morning was a good time to catch some good light, which is reflecting beautifully on the tower roofs. There is a vast contrast between the two architectural styles. Good work

Hi Katia.
A most impressive composition, placing the monastery and the ultra-modern academy of science in juxtaposition, united by the trees below and sky above. It's a pity about the crane, but you can't do anything about that, of course. The light you have captured is a lovely gentle light. I really like this photo from your country, which I visited so many years ago, during another Age.

you have a quite inspiring view out of your window. Obviously the light that you got here is a quite special one, something that really makes anyone pause for a look and grab the camera. Luckily enough it isn't just the light that is special but also the sight. The contrast in styles and cultural expression between the monastery and the academy of sciences couldn't be better!
