Photographer’s Note
At Jungfrujoch (3.471m/11'388ft) - which is the lowest point in the ridge between Mönch and Jungfrau on the boundary between the cantons of Bern and Valais - you're right above the upper end of the 7.3km (4.5mi) long cog railway tunnel, served by the Jungfraubahn.
It's known to most of the world as Top of Europe and is at 3.454m (11'333ft) the highest railway station in Europe. For many travelers to Europe it's a must, and the train from Kleine Scheidegg swarm with people from India, the United States and - especially - Japan.
So popular is this destination among Japanese visitors, that well-known TEer Jean Yves Rovre (PixelTerror) has coined it "Swiss Shinkansen" in a previous upload.
And high above the black and white Lütschinen valleys of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, and further away the city of Interlaken ("between the lakes"), it's possible set foot on the eternal snow and defy the ice-cold wind for a quick - but mandatory - photo shoot.
Then return inside the large complex of tunnels and buildings - most of them at the south side of the Mönch - where it's far too easy to forget that you're actually at an alpine and high altitude surrounding.
So you're urgently requested to move slowly!
