Bu sabah kar yağdı Ankara'da nihayet. Şöyle lapa lapa, bembeyaz, ne vakittir özlediğimiz gibi. Ve susuz günlerde ellerini bulutlara açan güzel heykel, karlar altındaydı bu sabah.

This morning there was snow in Ankara at last. The snow we missed for a long time. The beautiful hands statue was snowy white.

Cependant elle serait géniale si tu la refais quend il y a encore plus de neige... Que l'on ne voit plus que les bras sortir de laneige..

Kar ile birlikte insan faktoru, kuslarin olmasi kompozisyona cok farkli hava katiyor... Ayrica kadraj olusumu ve o ani belgeleme acisindan cok basarili...

gerçekten notunuzla birlikte nefis bir kompozisyon.biz bugün istanbulda kar gördük ama ankara gibi olmuyor tabi.heykelin konumu ve gökyüzünde uçuşan kuşlar harika bir görüntü oluşturmuş elinize sağlık.

Hello Sibel,
I am very familiar with this famous statue. My past "friend", an artist who travelled to Russia for an ice sculpture competition made a replica of these hands in clay for an idea for an ice sculpture. The works of art throughout the world travel far, and it is good that all can share in their beauty.
Excellent B/W image that seems frozen in time with the snow...

Merhaba Sibel,

I like this photograph of the hands sticking out of the ground very much, although as cold as the weather looks, he might want to pull them under. The appearance of the pedestrian walking by, and the birds flocking to the air are perfect complements for the image.

In Washington, DC there is a beautiful park called Hains Point. It juts out a triangular manner the Potomac River and offers a good view of Reagan National Airport. There near the tip of the park, is a colossal statue, half buried. Similar hands, one knew, a sleepy face all sticking out of the ground like this. It is large enough to allow 2-3 people to climb on his hand. The statue is cast in bronze and depicts "Rip Van Winkle" who, you might remember, fell asleep and woke up a hundred years later.

The most interesting aspect is that the sculptor is Stuart Johnson, the heir to the Johnson-and-Johnson pharmaceuticals company, that all physicians must be familiar with. You've inspired me to take some artistic photographs of it.

Beautiful capture too! The composition is very good and the choise for B&W too. It is also a decisive moment with the man and the birds who give life to the hands.

Bu güzel kareni kaçırmışım,az önce Sayın Batalayın son karesini izlerken notunda bahsettiğinde gördüm.
