Photographer’s Note
Spirituality is very present in India and when you visit one of the holy cities, life is spirituality and spirituality is life.
Wandering through the little streets of Pushkar - that are somewhat disappointingly filled with souvenir shops - I came across this old holy man.
Through our translator we managed to talk to him for a while and his words left a deep impact.
Although Pushkar is certainly inhabited by many more, to me he is the wise man of Pushkar.

An expressive face Sabine, I was surprise when I saw him, my best compliment.
Also your note I found intersting.
Best regards
Bruno

I love the contrast of colours and texture here, as well as the wise appearance the man possesses.
as his skin is quite dark, i uploaded a couple of workshops to show variations to consider.

Great portrait - although old doesn't always mean wise!! He looks like he's seen a lot though. Great pic..

Dag Sabine,
hee, zijn hoofd staat er helemaal op ! Grapje, hoor. Deze foto springt onmiddellijk naar voren vanwege de gele kleur. Prachtige scherpte ! Hier veel regen en bijwijlen stormwind, maar wij zitten nog niet met wateroverlast.
groetjes en prettig weekend,
Luc.

There must be as many sadhus here on TE as burmese monks, but always room for more especially when presented with such care.
The texture and colours look great here, Sabine

And your portrait him in all his magnitude and solemnity. This is a respectful work, if I may say so. You show a lot of dignity through this man's face and that's good. Colors are wonderful as usual. I would like to see a shallow dof to blur even more the distracting background. Concerning the crop, although I don't think it's weak at all, I would like to see a closer crop or a wider one where we could see the entire hands. But that's a personal preference that doesn't diminish your photo in any way. Great expressive eyes.
