Masked Weaver (Ploceus velatus) (15cm)
This is a member of the weaver family. They construct intricate nests by weaving bits of grass together. Sociable birds found mainly in dry thorn bush and even in suburban garden trees.
The male notably has a black face and throat. Black allso covering the forehead. Allso notable is the red eye.
Sigma 170-500. ISO 500.

What a magnificent capture of this bird! Perfect pose. Beautiful sharpness and composition. It looks as if the feathers have some kind of florescent color.
