Photographer’s Note

Shot at the entrance of the Site of Pompei. This great lonely tree at the top of the hill caught my eye right away...here it is. Some minor post-processing here: contrast, saturation and some fiddling with the colors of the sky.

Une photo prise à l'entrée du site de Pompéi. Ce grand arbre seul juché sur son monticule m'a attiré l'oeil tout de suite...Un peu de PP ici bien sûr: contraste, saturation et je me suis amusé avec les couleurs du ciel.

a great interplay between the lights and shades and the richness of colours is superb. good view and a breath taking composition indeed.

Philippe, Nice picture with dream like color. The composition of the picture is good. I loved how the green colored grass varied in color from green to dark green. The orange sky has added contrast to the picture.

Hi Philippe,
A wonderful moody capture of this once great city entrance. I'm not quite sure about the red gradient filter - but maybe it adds a feel of the vulcano doing its devastating work.

Une trés belle prise de vue, ici l'arbre au centre est trés bien situé et c'est même l'escalier qui nous y amène.

Bonjour Philippe,
si tu as aimé les couleurs de ma dernière photo, je peux te dire qu'elles ne sont rien à côté de ce que tu as obtenu ici, que ce soit naturel ou suite à un PP.
Non seuelement la cadrage est top, mais les lumières habilles la scène de quelque chose de mystérieux.

Quelle douceur dans le grain de ta photo...finalement, ce qui t aura plu à Pompéi : c'est un arbre ;-)Ton angle de vue le fait se détacher sur le ciel, avec puissance. la couleur du ciel est sympa.

J'aime bien aller me promener un peu au hasard sur les galeries, chez toi, j'ai cliqué sur Italie et cette photo m'a immédiatement attiré l'oeil avec ce ciel chromo. Tu as réussi effectivement à rendre cet atmosphère des derniers jours... ciel de feu, brume comme de la cendre, une photo de film!
