Photographer’s Note

Thiw white gibbon is an ape not a monkey.
I must confess I was not aware there was a difference between both before I read that. Apes have no tail, stand in a more or less upright position and their brain appears to be more developed.
(I feel like an ape too :-))

This one was taken in the zoo of Perth. I shot him from a good distance because he is living together with some apefriends on a small island ... hence no fences or iron grids between me and him.
