Photographer’s Note
The Kunsthaus Graz, Grazer Kunsthaus, or Graz Art Museum was built as part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations in 2003 and has since become an architectural landmark in Graz, Austria. Its exhibition program specializes in contemporary art of the last four decades.
Its unusual form differs radically from conventional exhibition contexts, many of which maintain the traditions of the modernist "White Cube". The team of architects used an innovative stylistic idiom, known as blob architecture within the historical ambiance of the Murvorstadt. Thus, the gigantic building affectionately called the "Friendly Alien" by its creators Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, in form and material, stands out consciously against the surrounding baroque roof landscape with its red clay roofing tiles but nevertheless integrates the façade of the 1847 iron house.

Wow, a perfect pic of the "friendly alien". Well done Fritz !! The contrast between old and new is even stronger with the reflection of the old house, perfect quality in all aspects (sharpness, colours...)

Hahaha, wow, what a museum. I have never seen a photo of this building, but it is indeed unique. It looks like a spaceship about to conquer the building on the right.
I like your composition, zoomed in on the building with the "normal" building on the right.

Hallo Fritz!
I have to say WOW! I mean the image is great, fabulous achitectural contrast, great vivid colours and a very nice "hidden" reflection on the friendly alien. But besides that, the structure it self is really superb. it looks like a inflatable matress about to explode.
cheers

Hi Fritz,
I should have expected this friendly alien in an outskirt of the city in a neighbourhood where we could see the whole building from all sides. It must be a shock to see it for the first time integrated between this buildings. But in my experience these contrast will do good to both.

Hello Fritz! Well, it looks like an inflatable toy! This is a very good shot of the museum in its surroundings. Certainly the architects (and the authorities) were bold, and you have transmitted that to perfection. I wonder about "the façade of the iron house". Maybe you'll show that too?
TFS and best regards

Herrlicher Kontrast zwischen Alt und Neu. Interessante Spiegelungen im Blau des Museums!
