Photographer’s Note
This was taken on the road up to the Needles looking across Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight. Alum Bay is a sandy bay near the westernmost point of the Isle and is noted for its multi-coloured sand cliffs.
An amusement park exists at the top of the cliffs, and during the summer season a chair lift takes tourists down to the beach below.
Samples of the sand in vials and jars were for many years available in tourist shops all over the island.
Interestingly, Guglielmo Marconi moved to Alum Bay in 1897 to experiment with radio. He set up a 40 meter radio antenna outside the Needles Hotel in Alum Bay. He was able to successfully transmit to the Haven Hotel in Poole 20 miles away.

Bonjour Paul,
j'aime bien la courbe de la lande de terre et son chemin,on dirait qu'ils se referment sur la mer comme pour protéger les bateaux, les couleurs sont agréables.

Hi Paul.
I don't mind the tilt here, although those boats positioned in the corner of the composition look like they might fall off the edge! Seriously, I think your composition is very thoughtful and interesting, showing the the perspective effect of the dirt track, and the little yachts arrayed against that impressive cliff. I quite like your elongated crop, too. Nice shot and interesting note.
Regards,
Andrew
