Waiting for Prayer Photo

Photographer's Note

Leh, Leh-Ladakh - altitude 3500 m

When finding out a lot of monks meeting, I asked them for permission to take a picture, they readily agreed to my request.
Monks of Buddhism are waiting the beginning of prayer at the Gompa Soma (Jokhang) in the main bazaar, which is open throughout the day for visitors.

They look like kids in any school in the world - some bored, some messing around.
I like how you framed this, wide but with many faces visible, and the boys in the foreground looking into-frame create a good sense of involvement in the scene.

Hello Hisashi - what would seem as a busy scene full of people, this one is actually quite relaxing to look at. It must be the monks giving me this sense of calm. Great colors throughout!

Very interesting picture. Some of these monks are just kids. Burt the hall does not look like a temple, more like a school.

but the little distortion is a bit disturbing
otherwise the details are well contributed by the nice exposure

Hello Hisashi,
Beautiful red colours. Was probably not easy to take as the inside of the gompa's can be very dark.
I had the luck to visit the same region a few months ago and have a Zanskar travelogue on TE.
