Pretty as a Picture Photo

Photographer’s Note

On our rides around the Périgord countryside we came across many unexpected and charming places which rarely appear in guidebooks or even get a mention on our route sheets. Today I’m pleased to add another placename onto the TE map – this is the delightful village of Siorac-de-Ribérac which left a lasting impression on me even from just a very brief stop. The centrepiece of the village is its church which dates back to the 12th century. Having been caught in a heavy shower just a few minutes before, the sky had brightened up and the buildings glowed in the sunshine.

Hi Susanna,
Wonderfull capture, very nice pov and good compo. Nice dark blue sky gives a great 3 D effect to the old building. And the yellow flovers in the foreground gives another taste to this great shot.

This is a well composed photo taken from a nice angle. The inclusion of the flowers in the foreground compliment the colors of the building nicely. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and DOF.

Toi aussi tu te mets à la papagolfade dominicale! ;o)
En tout cas tes images prouvent bien que le vélo est une façon superbe de découvrir une région car je doute que tu aurais remarqué ce village si tu avais été en voiture. La photo est superbe avec une belle lumière et des couleurs saturées à souhait. J'aime bien ces grosses fleurs jaunes au premier plan.

Un très joli décor d'un village que je ne connais pas mais qui m'a l'air très calme ! L'avant plan donne de la profondeur à cette image et le point de vue mystérieusement suréleveé est très bien choisi ! Dommage qu'il n'y ait personne à la terrasse ;-)

This is indeed a wonderful place. You were lucky with this "after the rain" atmosphere which gives a very clear and bright light that enhances all colors. I like the inclusion of the sunflowers as beautiful foreground.
