Photographer’s Note

[Motivation]
A family enjoying the sunset at Cape Sounio, ofcourse nearby the town Sounio. This town/area is located at the south(east) end of Attiki. Ofcourse we enjoyed it too, just like this family. Aimilios and his wife drove my girlfriend and my own person to this great place. (location -> see map)

This is the place where Poseidon's temple is at. A nice place to wander around for some time.
The sun began to set when we arrived, this is one of the results I achieved by pressing the shutter button ;)

The temple at Sounion, was a venue where mariners, and also entire cities or states, could propitiate Poseidon, god of the sea, of all gods second in power after Zeus, the supreme god, by making animal sacrifice, or leaving gifts.

The temple of Poseidon was constructed in 440 B.C., over the ruins of a temple dating from the Archaic Period. It is perched above the sea at a height of almost 60m. The design of the temple is a typical hexastyle i.e. it had a front portico with 6 columns. Only some columns of the Sounion temple stand today, but intact it would have closely resembled the contemporary and well-preserved Temple of Hephaestus on the Acropolis, which may have been designed by the same architect.

Hi Emiel, A very beautiful sunset it is to, the colours are wonderful &, the reflection off the water has been captured perfectly, the little ship to the right gives a nice prospective of size &, the depth has been well created, good silhouettes, TFS such a great moment, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Emielwith this nice and romantic composition.
You cropped it perfect, the golden light and color adds a wonderful effect here, the rock in the middle of the water, the foreland and the mountain are great parts in the image and they give the great depth effect too.

Hi Emiel, Great shot. A few minutes earlier might have been good too, with the boat a little bit in from the edge and a bit more obvious as it would have been closer to the sun. Not that there's anything wrong with the people in the image, but I would have prefered it without them, or at least with them entirely dark. I find the girls yellow shirt detracts from the central theme, which is the view at sunset. Cheers, Steve

Very nice sunset photo Emiel.
I like the silhouettes to the first level and the distribution of volumes in the frame.
Very good exposure gave no burning areas not even the sun (only a small part in the middle)

fantastic foto...with very long depth in this oposite frame..the light magnifisund managed and was difficult i thing..the sadows is in exelland position and giving life to the fact..romantic and very original,...!!!
