Photographer’s Note
(Mike's Diary) Montclair, New Jersey. Year 2000. Bloomfield Avenue.
Sure, I've heard that some people still believe that Elvis remains among the living. I thought to myself: "Well, some people also believe in UFO's and a handful of Americans go as far as believing that President Bush displays minute signs of intelligence..."
But this was like a scene from the "Twilight Zone"! Out of a small crowd of Independence Day Parade participants, there emerged Elvis himself! The King! With his regal robes, bell-bottom pants and sunglasses!
He has not changed much since 1977 although his face was showing signs of aging. His perky smile shone onto the onlookers sending them to their knees screaming:
He really IS alive!
Thankfully, I always carry my trusty 35mm Yashica. Now, I'm a believer and I've got the picture to back up my claims.
My next endeavor: to photograph honesty in Dick Cheney's eyes...
