Good Afternoon Trek Earth Friends..:o)
Today brings me to show you another photo from my journey with my husband on his ship the MVALGOLAKE.
At this time we were entering Hamilton Harbor , coming My Husband calls in to alert the bridge keeper that we are indeed coming an hour before and then 1 mile from the piers so that he has time to stop the traffic and raise the bridge. There are actually two bridges here one lift bridge which raises and the other is the QEW ( Queen Elizabeth Way) Which is Canadas verison of an interstate. Once the ship is clear of the bridge , the keeper will lower the bridge and salutes are given both by the bridge and the ship. Normally there are people down on the piers in good weather to watch the ship traffic or to fish. The ship is carrying close to 30,000 tons of coal to unload at a steel plant in the harbor.
