Photographer’s Note
Lots have asked so here she is. This is the ship I was on when I took the photo of the roller coaster. She 730 feet long and 75' wide. Height 9 stories. She carries up to 30,000 tons of coal in her hatches. My husband is the Captain of this ship and I'm lucky enough to be able to go aboard and take trips with him like the one I just came home from. Her name is the Algolake . I call her the "coolbeans" just for fun as sometimes I dont' like her too much as I have to share and sometimes it not easy to share my husband with her!
At the time of this photo , my husband was slidding the wall in front of me and shortly would land a couple crew members to tie her up . They they were taking on some supplies and picking up a passager..me!

Huge I think is the word! Nice, sharp shot with lively colors. Nice to see one of these 'lake transporters'. You're lucky to be able to travel teh big lakes.

hi Donna,
A wonderful image of the life of the lakes .. I think you should do more of them .. She is imposing in scale next to the shore . . I love the way she sits in and dominates the frame. The way the lines and symmetries work this image was really interesting perspective.
take care,
John
