Photographer’s Note
Two years ago this guy made the doorman of a rotten nightclub on the nightmarket Patong. He had the attitude of a dangerous guy, a bit the cliche of a killer maybe. I asked him if I can do some pics of him and he agreed. I liked the results.
Here you can see the results of him from my pics 2 years ago which I posted here on TE:
one
two
three
When I was in Bangkok last year I looked several times for him, but couldn't find him. I like his appearence far away from mainstream. He looks particular and he doesn't care for the camera. This year I saw him again. He is doing a different job on the market and his attitude was very different. He seemed more Mr. Niceguy and was very charming. I think he was a bit amused by the attention. I post two more pics of him as workshops.
"Cheap, cheap ... t-shirts, watches, DVD, CD, massage, Ladies, boys, ..." different voices in your ears, here and there a hand on your arm ... that's Patpong Nightmarket Zone with many bars in that aerea.
At least I have even to confess that I like the energy and the chaos of this city. I even like the odd quarters.
nightshot 1600 ISO, no tripod
There is some grain - as Valeria mentioned - I like that for this portrait.

He certainly seems to have 'lightened up' as they say from a couple of years ago. Well, we do get a bit wiser as we get older. Usually! Have a good weekend Nino.

Hi Nino,
He may have mellowed, but I would not want to confront him when he was scowling...Very fine light, with good cropping and balance. He indeed has a rather bemused expression. I think the slight grain is apropos. Cheers.

Well, I hope you haven't been in bangkok and failed to give me a call from a drink, Nino. If you are you had better put that right. This guy is in Patpong not Patong. And I hear that, The Queen's Castle, is it is a low life bar for sure. He certainly looks a bit softer now that he not a bouncer. Maybe he was too nice for the job. regards kevin
