The Balinese Hindu Temple Photo

Photographer’s Note

First it rained cats and dogs and than there was even the fog on my trip to the north part of the island. After a short stop in Sinaraja and Lovina I wanted to see the famous temple "Pura Ulun Danu Bratan". Indeed there is a special atmosphere at this place. On one hand the weather made it difficult to take the pics and it was a bit uncomfortable, on the other hand it was a nice mood. The Temple on the lake is amazing.
One of the places I would love to see again.

Hi Nino!
Ich hoffe Du hattest auch etwas Sonne im Urlaub,bin aber froh daß bei diesem tollen Bild keine zu sehen war.Wunderschönes Bild von diesem einzigartigen (Insel)Tempel.Gute Kompo mit diesem Wasserpflanzen Tepich im Vordergrund und der Nebel verursacht hier eine andächtige Stimmung.

I suppose this place is both interesting with good and bad weather. It's is strong here, despite the bad conditions. It creates mystery and spirituality. And if it was better with that weather ?

Hello Nino,

there is something very pleasant about this shot of yours..its a simple compo with fogged enviroment..the templke is an island here in the lake and I guess what I like is the structure and that saffron cloth in the middle..The foggy weather has given a mystical feeling to the shot which is very good..somewhat spiritual..!!

Hi Nino,
Not the best of weather but what an astounding architecture. Temples surrounded by water is very typical of Hindu architecture and you have done well with the perspective.

Hallo Nino. Wieder ein Photo aus dem liebenswerten und schönen Bali. Trotz des bedeckten Wetters ist der typische balinesische Tempel gut zur Geltung gekommen. Der Tempel hat etwas Mystisches. Irgendwie erinnert er mich an ein Gemälde von Döblin. Sehr schön und beeindruckend. Viele Grüße, Wolfgang.

Well composed with a misty, intriguing sky and background. I really like the lighting here and the growthin the water in the foreground nicely balances the main structure. What an amazing place...Just back on TE after a lengthy absence due to fatigue, travel and work. Cheers.

Hi Nino,

Yes a shame about the weather, but apart from the brightness behind the temple the photo is not spoiled. The grey fog and dark water contrasts well with the structure.

This place can have you hooked. The misty atmosphere creates a different mood & feel to this place compared to a clear day shot...I love this atmosphere

I have stop several times today to comment on this shot... love the glow that the slightly overexposed fog adds to the background of the temple. It creates a celestial atmosphere.
