Photographer’s Note

In autumn of 2005 I was visiting eight German cities to attend an extensive Concert Tour with a spiritual teacher/musician. When we arrived in Dresden, I had a couple of hours before the concert started and walked through the city of Dresden which was illumined by strong strokes of light. In this picture I was less interested in the purpose of the building than the mystery which lied behind the window, a dream-like atmosphere.

Wow, what a nice play of light. Great composition, wonderful balance of light and shadows. Really impressive presentation of architecture details. With a touch of mistery creeping here and there. Greetings T.

This is a nice enough picture, undoubtedly pretty, but it desperately needs a note. The whole point of TrekEarth is to "learn about the world through photography", and, to be brutally honest, this picture teaches me nothing. I would genuinely like to learn something about this obviosuly interesting piece of architecture. All I know is that it's in Dresden, and that you've given "castles" as a category. You don't even say the name of the castle. The title, "City of Dresden", also tells me nothing, as I already know what city it's in from the locations at the top of the page.
I am sorry to be so rude, but there are too many pictures without notes on TrekEarth - it is against the spirit of the site. Yours just happened to be the one I ended up targeting for complaint. I've looked at your other pictures and they're very good, but I would just like to learn a bit more from them.
