Photographer’s Note
Finally a new photo, I'm presenting you Fiskardo once more. Because I like this town in north Kefalonia so much!
Large photo with full details available, highly recommended!
Also map info available -> zoom out to see the location
[promotion]
The left part of this photo can be viewed in even more detail here, another LP!
[Photo scene info]
Well, it's Fiskardo and I've posted info on this little harbour before. This city is the only city where buildings we're not ruined during the earthquakes of 1953. There are houses dating from the 18th century. Fiskardo's houses are the oldest on the island! On the rest of Kefalonia houses needed to be rebuild after the earthquakes, so you won't find these pastel colours often in other towns on Kefalonia. There are even more extreme pastel coloured houses, which you can see here (but it's not such a nice photo)
The population is nowadays : ~150 inhabitants (except in the high season period, then it's considerably higher)
Fiskardo is a small picturesque fishing village and has the northernmost harbour on Kefalonia. A Fiskardo holiday is set among superb rugged hills and beautiful Kefalonia landscapes full of cypress trees and olive groves. Fiskardo is about 30 miles from the capital. Colourful traditional houses overlook a small cosy working harbour lined with restaurants. Fiskardo has good views across the water to the dramatic outline of the island of Ithaka.

Don't know if I actually used the polarizer or the UV, I really can't remember..
[PP involved]
* LP Resize 1640
* Crop (only top and bottom)
* Added contrast
* Shadow/Highlight probably, I forgot, I did the PP a few days ago, if so probably added midtone contrast aswell.
* Saturation adjustments
* USM
* Border + © & name (what a stress was it again, I really can't work with the horizontal type tool it seems..)
* Small version : Resize 800 Bicubic sharper
Hope you enjoy it!

Hey Emiel,
I like seeing panaromas like this. It gives the viewers a wide scale of the view, lovely modern looking 'mediterranean'style architecture seen in Kiscardo. Beyond the sun, sea and laid back lifestyle of this fresh scenery, the charm of the hills with lush greeneries and its surroundings makes a perfect postcard image. So much to see, the yachts and sailing boats docked in to the harbour, the clean blue water all very inviting.
After viewing it in larger view, undeniably the image quality is really good, colours are amazing, nothing that I disapprove. It's like being there myself!
Enjoyed it so much Emiel!
All the best!

Hi Emiel, this is a great collection of contrasting colours you've found and presented to us in this shot. The composition works well. I like how you have started low on the left and built higher on the right. At the same time the natural lighting starts light and gets darker with progress to the right. The shot is sharp and presents good detail throughout, especially in the LP.
Thanks, John

Hi Emiel,
so you found another nice Greek shot in the downs of your HD-Drive. It’s another good version of your favourite Greek village. Be prepared for less greenery on the Kyklades.

Here Fiskardo looks like a ..northern village because of colored houses!!
Sharp and nicely composed picture. I like the long slope of the hill side.

Hi Emiel,
very nice panoramic. I love how the diagonal line of the hill is paralleled in the larger near boats to the more distant smaller boats.
take care,
John

I love looking at the large posts to see all the finer details. The light and colours are good; not too harsh. You have the three horizontal layers and the strong diagonal of the background mountain which work well in the composition. From your PP info., this must be a single image? You've certainly fitted a lot into the frame.
You say you struggle with the type tool - well at least you know how to type the copyright sign; I haven't figured that out yet! :)
