Photographer’s Note
This is a typical low tide scene in Bantayan Island, located at the western portion of the northern tip of Cebu which is well known for its fine white sands and crystal clear waters.
The island is reported to be within the migration route of fish coming from the equatorial belt of China Sea, thus fishing is one of the main industry. It is also widely known as the 'Egg Basket' in the neighboring regions generating over one and a half million eggs a day to supply the demand of eggs for mainland Cebu, Negros, Panay and even Leyte.
Because of its powdery white sand and crystal clear blue waters, many travelers compare it to Boracay minus the commercialized atmosphere. There are plenty resorts in the island catering to different budget.

Bonjour Renier
Belle prise de ces zig-zag dans le sable qui nous conduisent jusqu'à ce beau bâteau tout rouge et très élégant. Belle idée d'avoir donné toute cette importance au sable.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

The ripples lead the eyes straight to the boat. I like our capture of this interesting scene. The boat sitting by itself create a good subject. The beach seem wide and clean. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy sunsets. Thanks Renier.

Hello Renier,
Superb low viewpoint with all these rippling patterns inexorably leading the eye to the old boat, which also has much to interest the viewer. Very good use of the vertical format and good framing with the horizon perfectly placed. Great piece of work.

nice natural art one. The boat is a good closure and helps, I think only it is a bit too much centered. The ripples are excellent, great POV for them. Great idea.

hello Renier
these sand ripples looks like little waves, and the boat seems to be lost in the sea... of sand, the tones are absolutly extraordinary with that blue dominance (or cold colours) and the boat making the only contrast of colours, it's a fantastic composition, simplicity but efficience, beautiful, very good photo :-))

Hey Renier,
Great use of 'rule of thirds' in the composition. The untouched ripple sand in the foreground draws our eye to the vast, seclusion of the beach. The sky adds cloudiness, casting an 'out of sun' cool relaxing atmosphere. Very inviting place!
All the best!

Hello Renier,
This is a fantastic wide-angle composition. The sand ripples lead nicely to the boat, which adds color to the scenery. Must have been an early morning shot because the sand looks relatively untouched. Regards,

Magical effect in your composition.

There is an optical illusion as if the two sidelines are diverging away backwards.

Renier, the simplicity of this image supports so well the great mood of this place. I like very much your inclusion of the sand patterns in the foreground. The boat in the background gives an addtional colorful splash although I would have placed it more off center to the right.

Hi Renier,
I was reading your intro, where you mentione about waiting to become better before buying a DSLR... Well, I think you’re ready because this is a fantastic shot. I really like this composition, where your horizon and principal subject is way over the line of third; to my humble opinion, this is even better.
The sand pattern is really great and it’s simply brilliant to fill most of your composition with it. Also, the red color couldn’t be better to get attention. Fine work!
Cheers!

When sunrays come in at a good angle like here, it makes a lovely image, not in need of much else...
