Photographer’s Note

Opuha Dam is situated just outside Fairlie, which is around two hours drive from Christchurch. The dam is very low at the moment ... the white line in the dam's stone wall is the normal water height. I suppose we also get affected by the global warming.

Just like sleping dino but the hills make a exellent reflecion on water.
The dam is also greath to but you now that i prefer match more colors
Anyway i find it really greath

Hi Renier,
symetric is the power of this shot specialy trough a calm dam water. water level as the maximom lines shows is not in good condition here. dark color of overal water area made a harmony with the mountains.
I think some problem with brightness hapend to this shot.
In addition nice shot.

I comment another quiet shot from you. I appreciate calm palces, you know the life is a continous overtaking and nobody's stop...
May be also stopping, sometimes, we could remedy by global warming. I hope you understand my poor english.

Dear Renier,
Nice reflection of the hill in the water. Attractive composition.

Global warming is supposed to increase the water level in the rivers, lakes and sea even may result in flood due to the excess melting of ice in the mountains.

Here the water level may be a seasonal variation I doubt.

Great relections but I suspect that the use of a graduated grey filter would have balanced the light levels here so that the sky was darkened to make the foreground lighter. A filter I must buy too, as I now increasingly find I miss some really lovely shots for the same reason
