Photographer’s Note

Hi dear TE friends

Place: Lisbon, Nations Park, Portugal.

Theme: A Real Paparazzi ,(To all of the tourists tanks)

When people go on holidays visiting other cities in other countries, they try to catch all the interesting points, using for that the digital technology. We can call them Real Paparazzis because they take local images and spread it all over the world.
This photo shows a group of tourists with cameras in their hands, waiting patiently for the water gush in out from the solid volcano. *see links

That’s the big attraction and there’s no doubt about it. This place is very pleasant, today it’s known as Nations Park but in 98 it Expo’98 – World Exposition was.

Como todos os turistas que visitam uma nova cidade, de um outro país tentam sempre absorver tudo o que os rodeia e para isso nada melhor que esta fantástica tecnologia do digital ao serviço de todos. Assim eles são uns verdadeiros paparazzis porque levam a imagem gravada para todo o mundo.
A foto mostra um conjunto de turistas que de máquina em punho, aguardam o momento tão desejado que é o disparo no segundo certo do rebentamento do vulcão de água. Ver links. Esta é sem duvida uma grande atracção para quem visita Lisboa, neste local onde em 1998 se realizou a Exposição Mundial, hoje conhecido como Parque das Nações.

Ha,ha,ha, a situação está engraçada, Filipe, no entanto sinto necessidade de fixar os olhos num pormenor e tenho dificuldade de fazer isso nesta imagem geral. Eu talvez fizsse um zoom nas 3 pessoas com a máquina na mão, cortando da cintura para cima e focando nesta menina da frente. Aqui dispersamo-nos muito. Esta era boa para WS. Ainda assim, está giro.

Maybe not the most typical paparazzi look at the girls and guys here - on the other far more 'decorative' hehe...

Paparazzo shooting the paparzzi! Well conceived shot, in both the composition and the exposure. As your note attests to the phenomenon, digital technology has made everyone a photographer — and how wonderful it is! With an ancient scanned slide I presented recently, What the Queen Saw, I wrote, "It was a day when multiple shots were unaffordable except for National Geographic Society photographers, so it seems. Indeed, an NGS photographer once quipped to me, '...you shoot by the roll, I shoot by the pound.'"

A popularização das fotos digitais é extraordinaria. Num grupo de pessoas sempre há as que sacam as maquinas digitais ou celulares (portáteis como voces dizem) para registrar o momento. Boa tomada fotografando os fotógrafos...e boa nota tambem. Abraços,

Situacao bem gozada que captaste aqui, Filipe. Enquanto a maioria das pessoas estao olhando ou tirando foto do acontecimento tem duas que estao com outros planos. Estao olhando para tras e este contraste ficou muito bem.

Has sacado una perspectiva muy interesante de los turistas, que todos alguna vez lo somos, todos a la vez enfocando y apuntando hacia algun lugar para inmortalizar un punto de interes, o un acontecimiento. Y tu inmortalizandolos a ellos, para subir esta interesante foto!

Excelente idea para este disparo, es una foto muy graciosa y divertida, la típica escena donde el guía turístico dice: " A su derecha el parque de...." y todos los turistas sacan a toda prisa sus compactas y machacan el lugar con sus flases. Vien visto y buen trabajo. Un saludo amigo.
