Photographer’s Note
This is what you see at the gates of Pompeii, quite a contrast to the ash frozen bodies inside the site.
Exposure on this shot was a bit tricky, there was a pile of lemons (partially visible) in the sun that were over exposed. I decided to try this crop and actually like it a lot.
The bottles contain delicious Limoncello liqueur and the huge yellow hanging fruits are real lemons...
from wikipedia:
Citrus is a common term and genus of flowering plants in the family Rutaceae, originating in tropical and subtropical southeast Asia. The plants are large shrubs or small trees, reaching 5–15 m tall, with spiny shoots and alternately arranged evergreen leaves with an entire margin.
Citrus fruits are notable for their fragrance, partly due to flavonoids and limonoids (which in turn are terpenes) contained in the rind, and most are juice-laden. The juice contains a high quantity of citric acid giving them their characteristic sharp flavour. They are also good sources of vitamin C and flavonoids.

Hello Shir! Yes the tight crop makes this a very striking image. Simple but very effective with many patterns within the scene. And of course the colors are well seen. Good title too!
Well done,
Doug

...great photo. Really great colors with the contrasting yellow and orange. Composition is perfect with the almost panoramic crop and really good framing to compliment the photo. Nice note also.

A fabolous photo of a fruit stand. There have been many posted on this site, but I think this is one of the best. The colours are great and the oranges are everywhere, on the bottom, on the right side, even hanging from the top.
Nice shot.

Hi Shir
i like your picture and not only for the bright colours. I like the geometry, with only straight lines, without any sort of perspective distortion.
It's a shame for the bad reflession in the glass of the sandwiches box.
cheers

Hi Shir,
Quite amazing! So many oranges...I certainly wouldn't try to count them...I'd probably have to keep starting over again.Having seen the original image your cut is just perfect. The lines are great and the bags of oranges frame beautifully.Spot on exposure and crystal clear.....great stuff!
