Photographer’s Note
Teaser from a story I've been working on, about African migrants on their way to Europe. These are Nigerians in front of their cheap , 2 Euro a night rough hostel in Kasbah of Algiers They are allowed in only after 6 PM, before they roam the streets looking for any job to pay for morning coffee, piece of bread, and this filthy piece of floor shared, sometimes for months, with dozens of other migrants. By the way, hotel facade looks decent only because there is hammam in the same building.

Marvellous composition, Swiatek, these three men in front of the deceptively gorgeous hostel are certainly worth the shot. Great use of the wide angle lens, the expression of the white man is superb!

just fantastic this one swiatek! marvelous compo with impeccable quality and metering.. the shot's imbued with a sense of waiting and uncertainty.. and of course you got these three great characters.. a wonderful documentary shot on a heartbreaking topic... (i remember a fine series on last year's world photo exhibition)... certainly looking forward to more photos and stories!
p.s. i wonder if some more details of the plaque on the wall could have been brought out a bit more with some post processing...
