Photographer’s Note
I stole...correction...borrowed this title from Ela Bhatt. The author of a book named "We Are Poor But So Many". The book is about the lives of thousands of informal workers in Ahmedabad. I am sorry...I forget the figures, but the informal workforce constitutes a staggering number of employees in India. This means that the women are not entitled to basic privaledges such as a minimum wage.
The ladies on the left and right are mother and daughter...the lady in the middle is a relative - they always come ragpicking together. Behind them are the bags of rubbish which they have collected. They are halfway through their day.

Ok but probably not one of your best, it lacks depth and fluidity, more a family portrait than a story here... I wonder why you didn't process it like the others : you should try to close the framing putting the sides into more darkness... Watch out for "hot" spots on the faces too.

Kaj,
Not as strong as some of your other but it does show a family and i imagine the sense of community and kinship between these brave women to be very strong. I think you have tried to capture that and it works well. I would have liked to have seen that PP on this photo though.
Cheers
Peter
