Photographer’s Note

I was inspired to take this shot while sitting at a café terrace. For those of you who aren't familiar with the location, it was taken just next to the Centre Pompidou, which is Paris's modern art museum. Where you can see the water, there is a rather large "pool" with lots of different sculptures that move and shoot out water in different ways. I used the border of the terrace umbrella to frame the top of the photo. The group of 4 pipes is very similar to piping you will see on the museum itself.

Nice shot. I like the 'umbrella framing' and the overall composition. I find the two girls in the background a bit distracting (well... that's typical of girls). Also I would crop out the windows on the right (see workshop)

Like Paolone i like the the use of the trim of the awning as framing for the top, together with the 4 stacker pipes, they form a solid setting for the sculptures.

very good composition Michele..border works very good with all other curved things around..and highlights the BW..very good idea to keep the picture colored as those few colored things would be undefinable..

The framing with the overhang is good, the dark conditions of the scene, wall metal, are balanced by the light in the water and the overhang.

Cadrage parfais, bonne vitesse qui fige les gouttes en l'air. Je trouve que les elements en couleurs (personnes, truc a gauche et le serpent coloré) detourne le regard de ces magnifiques fontaines. Je te propose un WS tout bete :)

The drizzle of the water droplets is very well rendered in this photo, and the sunlight accentuates it very nicely. Nice idea to keep the umbrella border at the top, and man what a collection of diverse shapes and elements in one single frame. A good shot, Michele.
