A Japanese Salaryman's life is so misunderstood. Michael, in Japan the wife knows all about their husband and hostess, Pink salmon and Soapland bars..One thing I envy about these salaryman is that the women know their place..We should all be so lucky. He is probably thinking of how he will let his boss beat him at golf Saturday morning. Or he is checking out the hot girl with mini skirt and high boots across the track. the last thing he is thinking about is his wife.
marmur82.. smoking is allowed in smoking cars. Though now some trains are all smoke free. These smoking cars are the most disgusting.. The Shinkansen smoking car is the worst of the bunch...
Good photo, we can all ad our own ideas about the meaning of life

So, which is your guess?
Whichever he thinks about, the shot is very deftly taken. Obviously without him knowing of your Leica fastened to your hand... and hence the spontaneity here. Love the way the chairs and curtains create a great graphic punch besides this man in reverie.
ciao
