Wave clouds, Lake Erken, Norrtelje, Sweden
It is still winter in Sweden, and the ice was strong here, so I went out to take photos of the fishermen on ice..
When I saw the sky that day, I was baffled, as it was wave clouds all over.
Everywhere I looked it was like this.
I wish I had a fisheye lense, ;-) so I could really capture the whole atmosphere.
Here is a small part of it.

WAVE CLOUDS are created by atmospheric standing clouds.
They are long strings of lenticular clouds, when an air mass passes over a geographic feature and a standing wave forms downwind.

What a clouds, Marita
From the thumbnail I think it's the up side down image. The wavvy clouds seems like pattern of sand.
They look great in wide angle. Very nice open space.

Hello Marita,

Very strange photo: it seems the sky is like the sand on the beach but in the wrong position. Hopefully you put some yellow grass to clearly show where the earth is really placed.

I can't really remeber if i'v seen such clouds, at least not in long time. bravo
In this picture i like the color of the reed. it gets allmost a bit redish in late winter time.
did you layed down at your back and tryed to take a shot straight up in the sky.

Amazing effect! Very impressive cloudy sky indeed, it looks like some kind of optical illusion. Great composition, well balanced between the sky and the lake. Very nice! I believe B&W may work very well here too...to emphasize the graphical aspect of the picture.

Hello Marita! You could also call it "a painted sky" ... such an impressive cloud layer, giving a pale but beautiful appearance to the rest. This all gives me such a "wide-open" feeling, space to breathe. So well done, I love it. Barbara.
