Se Catedral de Lisboa / Cathedral of Lisbon

National Monument, ordered to construct for the first Portuguese monarch, D. Afonso Henriques (1109-1185).
Santa Maria Maior de Lisboa or Sé de Lisboa is the cathedral of Lisbon and the oldest church in the city. Since the beginning of the construction of the cathedral, in the year 1147, the building has been modified several times and survived many earthquakes. It is nowadays a mix of different architectural styles.
Lisbon is the seat of a bishopric since the 4th century AD (see Patriarch of Lisbon). After the period of Visigoth domination the city was conquered by the Moors and stayed under Arab control from the 8th to the 12th century, although Christians were allowed to live in Lisbon and its surroundings. In the year 1147, the city was reconquered by an army composed of Portuguese soldiers led by King Afonso Henriques and North European crusaders taking part on the Second Crusade (see Siege of Lisbon).

Voce com inveja das praias e eu com inveja de voce que tem verdadeiras obras de arte a ceu aberto ai em Portugal.Mas ja faz parte dos meus planos e a minha proxima viagem sera para a tua terra.Fotografia com boas cores, contraste e nitidez.

Olá Filipe!
Bonita foto da Sé Catedral de Lisboa.
Boas cores e boa luminosidade.
Parece-me, no entanto, que o edificio à esquerda está ligeiramente inclinado e uma correcção de perspectiva teria aperfeiçoado um pouco a tua foto
Mas, não deixa de ser uma bela foto que mostra uma arquitectura muito interessante e de profundo significado historico.

Olá Filipe,
Boa foto deste belo edifício, simbolo de Lisboa. Cores e nitidez perfeitas.
Apenas uma sugestão para o PoV: Já há algum tempo que não passo por lá, por isso não sei se é possível, mas eu teria tentado uma fotografia sem apanhar o prédio no lado esquerdo. A Sé, por si só, é uma imagem poderosa!

Gosto muito desta Filipe. O enquadramento está perfeito e as cores estão saturadas na medida correcta, conseguindo um contraste muito bonito entre aquele azulão do céu e a bela textura amarelada da pedra da Sé. Não me preocuparia com a correcção da perspectiva aqui, mas como exercício é giro experimentar. Talvez cortasse um pouco à direita para tirar aquela placa nos cabos. A gaivota é uma foto mais banal, mas bem conseguida, se bem que deveria estar à esquerda da imagem, ao nível da composição.

Ola Filipe , i remember that place in that slope heading up Santa Luzia from where you took that beautiful portrait with the musician . That Cathedral also inspires Portuguese singers and it comes up to my mind a song by Dulce Pontes paying homage to this sweet cathedral that sometimes recalls me a castle that becomes great with the latter sunlight layers and those curves described by the trams , don t remember if it is about tram no.28 ...I like the way you have introduced the picture to us focusing on the whole monument and playing with the contrasts and effects of the sky , sun , lights ...I remember a clock on the cathedral facade , did it disappear ? it did not work properly ...In love also with your Lisboa ...Best wishes

Hi Filipe,
What I notice here first is tilt to the right side, which is something you can easily correct, and too many wires disturbing the view to the cathedral, which is something that is unfortunately hard to avoid today in any city. Nevertheless we can pretend this is a big spider web and not infrastructure necessary for the well-known trams of Lisboa :)
As for the cathedral, it works very well on the background of the bright blue sky. There is very interesting disproportion between its gate and towers and size of the whole building, but I guess that was done for some purpose.

Hi Filipe,

A good POV of the cathedral of Lisbon, the photo has a good composition, sharpness and nice colors. It would be difficult to put the photo level because there is almost no space to do it. Have a nice day.

Oi Filipe ,
Hoje vim ver as tuas fotos mais antigas e fiquei aqui por esta vista tradicional da Sé de Lisboa , como e interessante ver as varias fazes da construção das torres devido a cor dos tijolos , boas cores como enquadramento da foto , qualquer dia tenho de tirar umas fotos lá dentro ,parabens!!
