Walking over Ganges Photo

Photographer’s Note

Photo from the soutern Ghats, where the river "The Ganaga" let people walk on water.

I remeber you all to check last Indias photos for more notes about Varanasi.

Let's say in this one that the original name of the city is Kashi, name of a deity. And that everyone that enters the city must be aware of this two or three things. Kashi is deity of the city. Shiva walks the streets of Kashi daily, his name there is Vishvanath, and Ganga purifies the holy city with its water.

There in Benares you will find the Vishvanath temple, inside, a jyotilingam.

The lingam represents Shiva, the masculine energy, and most of temples in India have a lingam inside. Few only have a jyoti lingam. Thjey say that inside the stone of the lingam there is a living light. A light of Shiva.

After reading all this, is simple to understand that people is able to walk over Ganges.

This is very nice. I like how you spaced out all the characters across the frame and the sepia toning looks very nice here. My only comment, for an alternative shot, would be to crop off everything from the top, leaving only water and the people walking on it. I would make the impact of the shot even greater. Good work, though.

Nice picture. I would suggest, however a slight crop to bring more enhancement to the main characters

The amount of space in teh frame the river takes up suggests that the water would be deeper, so the shallow depth of the river and the people "walking" on the water seems more surprising. The silhouetttes are nice and strong and well spaced. the only thing I'd change is I agree that trimming the sky would increase the emphasize the water.
