Photographer’s Note
These masks, synonymous with decadence and exuberance, fill the streets of Venice, on show for the hoards of eager tourists. The real masked balls are a more selective affair and still exude an air of mystery and exclusivity. Money and title still trumps all at these events where tickets can run to astronomical amounts. Venice, however touristy it has become, remains a jewel of Europe, so utterly unique and fascinating that one can easily overlook the negative aspects that go along with a visit there.

very nice detail and colours. u managed to grasp fully the air of mystery but also that of luxury.
it makes me regret the fact that i did not buy one but their prices were too high and i did not want to risk to put ti in my luguage.

now thats a great portrait of a mask. you really concentrated the entire frame on the mask itself which is what i love to do in my portraits. well done
