Photographer’s Note
The two pillars were brought to Venice in the 13th century and were from the beginning a place to gamble. The authorities didn't much like having the site being used for dicing so the decided to make it the site of public executions. This didn't make the place much more regal since street executions were also big tourist attractions. However the space between them is still, to some Venitians, ill omened.

Hi Scott,
wonderful composition "between the pillars". I like how you have framed the picture, excluding this way the mass of tourists that are now insignificant. I like it very much.
Have a nice day,
Tomi

Superbe image de la place Saint Marc avec un très bon redressement des perspectives. Tous les symboles de Venise sont ici regroupés, les couleurs sont belles et le POV impeccable. Belle photo, Scott!

Hi Scott,
The impressive buildings look great on the backdrop of the deep blue sky.Well composed and i like the symetrics.Good light throughout the image making it very clear and detailed.I see that you concentrated on the architecture and tried to avoid the crowds.Well done.
