Photographer’s Note
This mother and her children belong to the Quechua Indian Community in Cuyabeno, Ecuador. I took this picture in 1982 when I had the privilege to travel with these nice people on the rio Aguarico. At the time they were living a simple yet happy and peaceful existence, fishing and hunting. The Cuyabeno Reserve was created in 1979 and it covers over 600,000 ha of untainted rainforest around the Río Cuyabeno. Cuyabeno is home to some different communities each one with its own cultural identity. It is accessible from Lago Agrio and it has now become an important tourist destination because of its lakes, swamps and amazing diversity of animals such as: insects, butterflies, river dolphins, capybaras, caimans, anacondas and tapirs as well as 15 species of monkey to well over 500 types of birds.

A photo to think about... Also a documentary one, together with the good note.
is it worth, all the racing development we are witness of?
is it worth, all the destroying we do?
is it worth, the price we pay for?

Salut Michel.
