Comalat House (1911)
Salvador Valeri, architect.
Av. Diagonal 442 y Còrsega 316, Barcelona.
At the bottom of Gràcia between the Diagonal and Carrer Còrsega, this often overlooked Moderniste house (not open to the public) built in 1911 is a good one to add to your collection. For a look at the best side of an almost-Gràcia Art Nouveau tour de force, cut down past Casa Fuster at the bottom of Gran de Gràcia, take a left on Bonavista, then a right on Santa Teresa past Jean Luc Figueras's excellent restaurant at No. 10 to Casa Comalat across Carrer Còrsega. This Salvador Valeri i Pupurull creation is one of Barcelona's most interesting Moderniste houses, especially this side of it, with its bulging polychrome ceramic balconies and its melted wax-like underpinnings. Look for the curious wooden galleries and check out the designer bar, SiSiSi, around on the less interesting facade at Diagonal 442. Metro: Diagonal.

Es interesante la nota tambien, y me da gana visitar Barcelona de nuevo. Hay tantas cosas que ver.

Hola Quino,
Barcelona is an amazing city. One of my favourites (if not number 1)!
You can walk around the city for hours without looking in fron tof you ;-)
Nice capture of this house.
