Photographer’s Note
From a light aircraft cruising at about 10,000 feet, the high peaks on the Western Side of the New Zealand Alps are visible above the cloud line. The New Zealand Alps are located close to the west coast of the New Zealand South Island. In this area, annula rainfall is measured in meters.
I've had four trips to New Zealand and I am yet to see this part of the country free of cloud. The effect of the peaks above the cloud line is quite amazing.

A beautiful capture, and technically very good given the conditions of shooting from a light aircraft. I know what you mean about the banks of clouds - they look amazing flowing right up to the mountains.

Yes, the cloud line is amazing as well as the peaks over it. White an blue, so natural colours presented from you so wonderfully!
Thanks, John.
Best regards,
Athanasios.
