Photographer’s Note
This lagoon is located in the Cordillera Real. It is a beautiful lagoon on the way down from the amazing Laguna Chiar Khota and the Condoriri massif (more posts to follow).
I love the high Andes for their amazing colors, dramatic views and thin air. The llamas you see grazing in the valley below belong to the few people who live lower down the valley.
Altitude is approx 4300m. Day temperatures are quite pleasant but at night temps drop well below the freezing point.

How absolutely glorious....
....as you say, the colours and contrasts are most impressive. Could almost be Welsh! Except that it couldn't be...
Really nicely composed, I'll look at your other work too!

Nicely done composition with the mountain slopes coming down from the right to the left, the lake nestled inbetween and the lhamas scattered around. I'm gasping for air in this awsome high altitude picture ;-)

hey!
The colours of this picture are really amazing - in some way they fit together and create an atmosphere that is difficult to describe for me... really well done! I love it!

Hello Shir,
It is the first time I am entering in your site and looking at your pictures. I am glad I did so. Here is one which attracted me starting from the thumbnail, and I think I was right. I wonder how you managed at that altitude without oxygen You did well to include all the lake and the mountains in the back are extraordinary. But I would like ( As a professional ) to remind you that polarizing filters are risky at such altitudes . You may get a very dark sky even without using a polarizer . Although this sky is not too dark, I am saying this because when printed such pictures may get almost black skies, which I don't think you would really appreciate.
Thanks for taking us to the Andes -
Izzet

Beautiful place and beautiful capture! Perfect composition, with just enough sky to balance the lake. I like the strong saturated colours and front to back sharpness with maximum DOF. Good work!
