Jaguar in Gueux Photo

Photographer’s Note

This Jaguar D Type comes back on the scene from its exploits 52 years later!

The Circuit of Gueux - the fastest in this period with Spa-Francorchamps and Monza - was the theater during several years of the Grand-Prix of the ACF of Formula 1 at the time of Fangio, Hawthorn and Moss.

Took place at opening of these races the 12 hours from Reims. the departure of which took place at midnight. This event)
known its highlight later, in the 60s - the age of gold of endurance races - this race was considered as the revenge of the 24 hours of Le Mans.

In 1954, it is this Jaguar D Type piloted by Peter Whitehead and Ken Wharton who wons the race in front of 2 others Jaguar.

On Saturday, September 16th, 2006, The official Jaguar club inaugurated a plate in memory of this victory.

What a perspective and what a lovely car, one of the periods out of my youth, this Jaguar one of the most spectacular car in the years fiftys, excellent composition and beautiful colours.

Salut Jean Marie,
Ensemble, nous étions en voiture ce week end puisque je participais moi même à un rallye touristique. Pas la même chose mais sur quatre roue de toute façon.Cette prise de vue est très bien réalisé avec une bonne perspective.

La route guide l'oeil jusqu'à on ne sait-z-où. C'est vraiment l'élément de perspective clé ici. Puis cette voiture au bon endroit.

Superbe composition. La mise au point sur la voiture est parfaite, et cette route qui ondule avec son joli marquage au sol est vraiment un beau présentoir.
Très bien réussi. En plus c'est une belle voiture, je ne sais plus si j'en ai vu au musée de mulhouse (j'ai posté qq exemplaires sur TE si tu aimes les anciennes voitures ou les formes un peu originales ici.

This is really outstanding, Jean Marie.
I like how the undulating road leads straight as an arrow into the distance, but the real bonus is that beautiful car.
This would have been even better if the driver had better lane discipline; I would have preferred it if he wasn't on top of the white line in the middle of the road.
Never mind, this is really impressive.

La voiture est parfaitement positionnée, et la route donne une énome profondeur à l'ensemble, cette bosse n'y est pas pour rien !
