Photographer’s Note

The gannet is a recent host of our country, appeared into 1939 in the seven islands, in Brittany. In extension since, this bird living the major part of the year to broad hardly comes to ground but for child birth.
There is now more than 18000 couples of gannet which come nidifier on the Island Rouzic opposite Perros Guirec

Nesting very close the ones of the others, the birds are established on the tops and the turfed slopes of small islands to abrupt cliffs. Built by the couple, the nest is a circular accumulation of algae, the plane ones, feathers and remains marine.

The laying takes place of mid-March in mid-May: generally 1 egg single brooded 43 to 45 days by the two birds; the young remainder almost 3 months with the nest.

One of the largest birds of sea. Its scale can reach 180 cm.

The adult is white with the yellow head and the end of the black wings. The young person is brown black with small white spots.

Shot taken with my Sigma 70-300 at 300mm without autofocus.
The shot hasn't been cropped.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Regards.
