This is one of my favorite books. As soon as i had finished the first one, waiting for the second was a pain, and then i had to wait for the third one as well, again, painfull :). There is actually one more book after the third one. Can't remeber the name at the moment, it's sort of a "stand alone" story. The picture itself is great, as usual. I like how only a small part is in focus, especially the sand is nice to have in focus. It's telling us a bit on where tou took te photo. This picture would work great as a PR for the book, IMO.

Sand from the beach on a book, that means 'holiday' to a lot of people. I like the focus you've used and angle, have never heard of the book! Good shot.

Great image Edwin. It looks surreal. I must say that I don't know that writer but you made me curious for a few reasons..
I have some people from my family name Guillou, it's a Breton last name..
Funny to see this shot under naxos!!

Very original subject. And excellent work-out – great angle, tones, DOF and framing. The sand on the book makes this shot really work...

Great shot, Edwin. And very original. Not the subject/location connection as such - many shots on TE could be taken anywhere. My tulips (and especially the macro) could be taken anywhere (Holland? Buenos Aires?), only my words and the story/notes validate the location to Lund!!
So when you, with your eminent note, say this photo is shot on a Noxos beach, I believe you (even if I don't like J.G.) and so I find this a very original picture as such. Excellent short DOF focusing on the sand and his name, nice diagonal positioning, hard tight cropping and a short color-range. Very good!

I prefer Ondskan, that is a very strong book. I never got far in the Arn thrilogy but it is interesting and a bit scary to see the impact of it on Swedish travel habbits. In the area where Arn "lived" people go on tours to follow in his footstep and see all the places etc. But how many of them remember that he is a fiction and not history? Ignorancy is never good but "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing".
About the picture, a fine macro, diagonals well chosen and the sand puts us in the reading on the beach scene.

Impressive macro Edwin. Very creative indeed. And so comfortable, laying in the sun and make a relaxing little macro ;-)
Yes, I am impressed by the brilliant idea..

Fantastic macro shot Edwin! You really can make anything turn into a piece of art.
Its amazing how the golden text stand out from the background. In my opinion this is a perfect technical shot. Great job!
Nu måste jag läsa boken :) Tack för din kommentar, det är roligt att vara tillbaka igen.

I agree with Zandra, this would work great as marketing of the book! Very good perspective, radical but nice, very good macro, the golden words made an excellent contrast with the rest of the picture!

Interesting shot. I like a lot the dinamic composition and the way the letters stand out so clearly from the rest of the book cover. This is also helped by their color.
A good graphical image.

It's a very sharp image and it gives a nice feeling... Could certainly be part of a advertising for the book because even if I have seen the (covered) library version, I now would like to buy it just for the (uncovered) version! ;o)
Technically perfect!
